Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital setting, requiring acute and trauma experience with 1+ year overall experience.
Details
- Adult Rehab Services unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
- Acute and trauma experience required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Current Oklahoma OT license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification from AHA required upon hire
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required
- Acute care and trauma experience required
- Strong knowledge of OT principles, practices, and treatment planning
- Ability to interpret physician referrals and develop individualized treatment plans
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients and staff
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Plan, evaluate, and implement individual and group OT treatment activities under physician direction
- Evaluate patients across independent living, occupational performance, prevocational, educational, play-leisure, and social/psychosocial domains
- Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices as needed
- Communicate patient goals and progress to patients and families
- Assist with discharge planning including equipment ordering and home therapy instruction
- May supervise students
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
- Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer
- Returning workers may extend a contract only once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
