Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience and an IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Med-Surg Telemetry unit with 24 beds
• 6:1 patient ratio
• Mixed diagnosis patient population
• EMR: Epic
• Uses IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer equipment
• Skills needed include trach care, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac management, and dialysis assessment
• RN reads telemetry, no titration required
• Support staff includes CRN, discharge nurse, and weekday pharmacists
• Night shift, 18:45-07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Provides patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge
• Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as a mentor/preceptor
• Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts
• Complies with regulatory standards and unit practice governance model
