Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a skilled nursing facility setting requiring 2+ years of experience (or new grads with 6 months of acute care or skilled nursing experience).
Details
- 13-week assignment in a post-acute, skilled nursing facility setting with training to float to an inpatient acute care hospital in the same location
- 8-hour day shifts starting at 0800, including 2 weekend shifts per month
- Inpatient care only, treating 8-9 patients per day
- Required to cover A, B, C, and D stations
- First to float when needed
- Uses Cerner EMR
- No rehab aides, OTAs, or PTAs on the unit
Requirements
- CA PT license required if applicable
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, or new grads with 6 months of acute care or skilled nursing experience considered
- Experience with total joint replacements, stroke, deconditioning, pneumonia, and balance difficulties preferred
- Familiarity with CVA, TKA, THA, and COPD patient care preferred
- Must be able to work independently and perform patient transfers
- Excellent communication skills required
- Must work closely with an interdisciplinary team
- Valid driver's license required for identity verification
Additional Information
- Primarily treats geriatric patients with chronic conditions, including orthopedic and neurological cases
- Floor-specific orientation provided
- Possible holiday coverage required
- Burgundy scrub color required
- Facility manager will conduct interview directly with no prescreen
- Candidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms will be considered
- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
