Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and teaching hospital experience.

Details

• Neuro ICU setting within an academic teaching hospital
• Provides critical care to neurological and trauma ICU patients
• Uses Epic EMR
• Variable 12-hour day/night shifts (7:00-19:30 and 19:00-7:30)
• Floating to other departments, units, or facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required if qualified

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro ICU and Trauma ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Experience managing ventilated and tracheostomy patients, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• Experience with CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver comprehensive critical care to complex neurological and trauma patients in an academic medical center setting
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel positions
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role due to required travel experience
