Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and teaching hospital experience.
Details
- Neuro ICU setting within an academic teaching hospital
- Provides critical care to neurological and trauma ICU patients
- Uses Epic EMR
- Variable 12-hour day/night shifts (7:00-19:30 and 19:00-7:30)
- Floating to other departments, units, or facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required if qualified
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Neuro ICU and Trauma ICU experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, and PICC line management
- Experience managing ventilated and tracheostomy patients, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Deliver comprehensive critical care to complex neurological and trauma patients in an academic medical center setting
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- All RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel positions
- First-time travelers are not considered for this role due to required travel experience
