Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Step Down unit position requiring a CA license, BSN, and at least 2 years of telemetry/stepdown experience.
Details
- Work in the Step Down unit of a teaching hospital
- 12-hour variable shifts, including Day (7:00-19:30) and Night (19:00-7:30) options, 3x12 schedule
- Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- AHA BLS certification required
- ACLS and PCCN certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required, stepdown ICU/TCU/PCU experience preferred over med/surg telemetry
- CIWA and EKG course or cardiac rhythm recognition experience required
- Tracheostomy care expertise required
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide care to stepdown patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response coordination
- Skills such as arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, chest tube management, and IV insulin protocols may be utilized
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract, and no RTO allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work together on the same unit
