Description
American Traveler is hiring a Lab Instructor for a Radiologic Technology Education program, requiring current ARRT R(R) certification and CA CRT licensure.
Details
- Onsite position at a teaching hospital's education/training center
- Delivers hands-on laboratory instruction for an 18-month radiologic technology program
- Facilitates small-group lab sessions of approximately six students each in Introduction to Patient Care and Introduction to Radiography
- Schedule includes daytime and evening class blocks across Monday through Thursday
- 30-40 hours per week including class time and preparation, with full-time hours available upon request
- May be assigned to one or both lab types based on qualifications and program need
- Uses learning-management and clinical-tracking platforms for instruction and documentation
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted ARRT certification and registration in Radiography R(R)
- Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license
- Current BLS/CPR certification for healthcare providers
- Associate's degree in radiologic technology or related field, or equivalent training/experience
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Applied clinical knowledge of radiographic positioning, equipment operation, and patient-care skills
- Knowledge of radiation-safety principles including ALARA, shielding, and collimation
- Familiarity with JRCERT Standards including 1:1 student-to-equipment ratio and direct supervision expectations
- Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Demonstrates and supervises energized and non-energized laboratory practice under direction of the Program Director and in coordination with the Clinical Coordinator
- Reinforces radiation-safety and patient-care principles while evaluating student skill acquisition using objective, documented criteria
- Maintains a safe, equitable, and well-supervised lab environment consistent with JRCERT Standards
- Aligns laboratory activities with didactic content and program learning outcomes
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
- May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius during the assignment if qualified
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to offer; no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
