Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification and CA RN licensure.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in the Labor and Delivery unit
• 356 staffed beds with 200-300 facility births per month
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend work required depending on contract length
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float to mother baby unit
• May be required to float to a sister Providence facility
• Epic charting system used
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• LTAC experience required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including high-risk delivery, C-section circulation/scrub, and vaginal delivery assist
• Experienced in fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Experienced in antepartum and postpartum care and complications
• Experienced in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care
• Precepting skills preferred to support PM shift staffing
• Care for high-risk OB patients including pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and multiple gestation
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO preferred to expedite the process
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Two days of floor orientation provided
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
