Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification and CA RN licensure.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in the Labor and Delivery unit
- 356 staffed beds with 200-300 facility births per month
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Weekend work required depending on contract length
- No on-call requirements
- Required to float to mother baby unit
- May be required to float to a sister Providence facility
- Epic charting system used
- Any color scrubs permitted
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- LTAC experience required
- Skilled in labor and delivery management including high-risk delivery, C-section circulation/scrub, and vaginal delivery assist
- Experienced in fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
- Experienced in antepartum and postpartum care and complications
- Experienced in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care
- Precepting skills preferred to support PM shift staffing
- Care for high-risk OB patients including pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and multiple gestation
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO preferred to expedite the process
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Two days of floor orientation provided
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
