Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk OB evening shift position requiring Epic experience and the ability to float across multiple units and facilities.
Details
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a short-term acute care hospital with 418 staffed beds
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- High Risk OB unit with couplet ratios of 1:1 and 1:3
- Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 15:00 to 03:00
- Every other weekend required
- On-call required if a shift is cancelled
- Required to float to Postpartum and High Risk Antepartum units based on unit needs
- May be required to float to sister facilities within the health system
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact must be in hand at time of submission)
- OR RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP
- Preferred certification: AWHONN Intermediate
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with high-risk antepartum and postpartum care preferred
- Skills in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in high-risk OB, labor and delivery, postpartum, and antepartum settings
- Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and newborn care
- Perform fetal heart rate monitoring and recognize abnormal patterns
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Scrubs provided for L&D/OR staff
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the region
