Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active Idaho or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 36 hours per week, 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM
• 8-week assignment length
• Up to 36 hours of call-off per 13-week assignment
• Charting performed in the facility's electronic health record (EMR)

Requirements

• Active RN license (Idaho or approved compact state) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire
• PALS certification required within one year of hire date
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Prior Medical-Surgical experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, IV therapy, and monitoring of vital signs and patient progress
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Assist with post-operative recovery, chronic illness management, and acute care interventions
• Delegate and oversee tasks assigned to nursing assistants, ESTs, and unit clerks
• Serve as a mentor and resource for new staff and peers
• Attend at least 75% of nursing staff meetings and applicable in-service education sessions
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 120-mile radius of the facility
