Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring a CA license and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Level III/IV NICU setting, surgical, caring for neonates from 23 weeks gestation and up
- Provides cooling therapy, all respiratory modes, PICC, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, and line insertion
- Typical patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirements
- Floats to peds, PICU, and nursery
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of NICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Skilled in UAC/UVC and arterial/central line management
- Experience administering IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required
Additional Information
- Care for neonates with cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory conditions, including neonatal abstinence syndrome
- Manage feedings via bottle, breast, or gavage, and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate
- Returning staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
