Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Respiratory Care Practitioner/RRT for a 13-week assignment requiring 5+ years of acute-care respiratory therapy experience with adult and pediatric patients.

Details

• Cardiopulmonary department in an acute-care hospital setting
• Provides respiratory assessment, treatment, education, and diagnostic services across the hospital
• Cares for both adult and pediatric patients
• Schedule of eight consecutive 10-hour shifts, Wednesday through Wednesday (7 days on/7 days off)
• Structured as 40 hours per workweek (Sunday-Saturday) followed by scheduled off rotation
• Overnight on-call coverage required during the 8-day work rotation
• Must be able to meet a 30-minute on-call response time

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory therapy program
• Current NBRC credential as RRT or CRT
• Current Colorado Respiratory Care Practitioner license in good standing (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum 5 years of respiratory therapy experience in an ED/acute-care hospital setting with adult and pediatric patients
• Intensive care and ventilator-management experience
• ABG draw and analysis experience
• Ability to function independently in an acute-care environment

Additional Information

• Provides respiratory treatments and manages mechanical and noninvasive ventilation
• Troubleshoots respiratory equipment and performs patient assessments
• Performs pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing
• PFT experience preferred, including spirometry and/or box pulmonary function testing
• Experience with walk testing and methacholine challenge testing preferred
• Cardiac diagnostic testing experience preferred, including Holter monitors, stress testing, and stress echocardiograms
• Works closely with providers and the multidisciplinary care team
