Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift Sonographer for an acute care hospital setting, requiring ARDMS certification and 2+ years of post-graduation experience in advanced ultrasound practice.

Details

  • Acute care inpatient and outpatient hospital setting
  • Performs general ultrasound including OB, abdomen, and small parts imaging
  • Night shift schedule: 7 PM-7:30 AM Thursday, 9 PM-9:30 AM Saturday and Sunday
  • 13-week contract length
  • On-call work may be required

Requirements

  • Active state license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification
  • ARDMS certification in at least one category (OB/Gyn or Abdomen/Small Parts)
  • ARDMS certification in an advanced category (Fetal Echocardiography, Breast, Pediatrics, Registered Vascular Technology, or Musculoskeletal) or 10 years of advanced practice experience with commitment to obtain advanced registry
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduation experience in advanced ultrasound practice
  • 5 years of post-graduation experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach above shoulder level repeatedly
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Additional Information

  • Perform ultrasound exams and procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Assist physicians and medical staff during exams and procedures
  • Complete documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
  • Review previous studies, reports, and orders to ensure timely performance and reporting
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Works primarily independently in a highly complex, acute care setting
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, and infectious diseases as part of routine duties
  • Must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment in a busy, high-stress environment
  • Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered
  • Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
