Description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with critical care experience and required HI licensure for a variable-shift assignment.
Details
- PACU setting caring for patients pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery
- Uses equipment including Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS Warmers, and HP/Phillips Monitors
- Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends/holidays
- May rotate between ASU and PACU units
- No guarantee of hours or shift preference
- On-call required 0-3 times per month, including 8-hour nights and 24-hour weekend/holiday shifts
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required by start of assignment
- BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- PALS certification recommended and may be required for certain positions
- 2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (ER, ICU, or PACU) in a hospital setting required
- Additional specialty certifications such as NIHSS or TNCC preferred and may be required
- Critical care assessment skills including monitoring incision sites, body temperature, and post-anesthesia stability
Additional Information
- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care with advanced knowledge of anesthesiology principles
- Assess and monitor patients for signs of complications during recovery
- Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start for clearance appointment
- Proof of flu vaccination or approved exception required prior to contract start
- Strong critical thinking skills required to manage patient stability and complications
