Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2 years of PICU experience and BLS/PALS certification.
Details
- Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a hospital setting
- Pediatric critical care patient population including ENT, general surgery, ortho, and pre/post-op cases
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to NICU or units within skill set with orientation provided
- Epic EMR preferred
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
- BLS and PALS certification required; NRP and CRRT certification preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Experience with breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, high frequency vents, oscillators, procedural sedation, and RSI drugs
- Experience with trach care, vent management, blood/blood product administration, CVP monitoring, and 12 lead EKGs
- Experience with drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, port-a-cath/vascular access, syringe pumps, traction/halo/pin care, triple lumen catheters, and wound vac care
- Pediatric dosage calculation skills required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across a range of surgical and medical specialties
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Limited RTO accommodations; all time off requests must be submitted upfront during the consideration process
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
- First-time travelers accepted if they meet experience requirements
- Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff must have been separated for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible
- Local candidates accepted at standard travel bill rate
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
