Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 16 beds and an average daily census of 15, plus a 6-bed L&D Triage area
- 16-week night shift assignment (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
- Patient population includes neonates/infants and adults
- Patient ratios of 1:1-2
- Handles labor (vaginal deliveries), C-sections, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and D&C procedures
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- Epic EMR required, along with Pyxis and SBAR systems
- 3 weekend shifts required per contract
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- On-call requirement of 2 calls per 6 weeks for AM and PM shifts
- Shift and schedule as listed are firm with no alternate shift or scheduling requests permitted
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Intermediate preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood/blood products
- Skilled in labor and delivery management, including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and forceps/vacuum extraction
- Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
- Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and high-risk antepartum care
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care across antepartum, delivery, and postpartum phases
- Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Support high-risk deliveries and manage complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Facility-provided scrubs
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with RTO required to be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
- Blackout dates apply for RTO during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
- Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
- Full compliance required to start on time
