Description
American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and GA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- ICU setting with 24 rooms and average daily census of 19
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- Common diagnoses include ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3, with possibility of a 3rd patient
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Uses Pyxis and Epic systems
- Charting follows SBAR format
- Block scheduling not guaranteed
- Travel pairs not permitted on the same shift/unit
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start
- TNCC certification preferred
- Skills required: care of ventilated patients, HFNC, ETT/NT suctioning, IV therapy, central line care/management, CVA/acute stroke management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Preferred skills: post neurosurgery management, CVVHD/CRRT, and post cardiac surgery care
- Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
- Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct bedside ICU care across a range of critical diagnoses and post-surgical conditions
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO requests permitted during orientation week or after offer/onsite
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Returning travelers who were previously unable to return to a facility must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before rebooking
