Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse with critical care skills and AHA certifications for a 13-week assignment.
Details
- Work in the ICU of a hospital environment
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM, on a 36/36 rotation
- Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per schedule period
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float to PCU (1:5 ratio) and MS (1:7 ratio) as needed
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA is the only accepted certifying body)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- PALS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- Comfortable with 1:7 patient ratios when floated to MS
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
- Experience with IV insulin protocols preferred
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, EVD, and ICP monitoring preferred
- Experience with Impella, IABP, Swan Ganz monitoring, and sheath removal preferred
Additional Information
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Contract nursing staff are expected to support nursing student clinical education alongside patient care duties
- General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules, averaging 4-5 hours
- Relias EKG testing must be completed within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts
- Drug testing must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start date
- Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
