Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring high-risk (Level 3) OB and Heparin drip experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
  • High risk antepartum patient population with 200-300 facility births per month
  • Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per month)
  • No call requirements
  • Cerner charting system used
  • Mandatory float facility - all clinicians required to float within scope at facility discretion, including outside primary competency with team-based support, and to other Cook facilities within 50 miles with as little as 2 hours notice

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required in hand at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, NIHSS
  • AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, multi-facility or travel L&D experience preferred
  • High risk (Level 3) OB experience required
  • Heparin drip experience required
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Skills required: antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, assisting with high risk delivery, circulating and recovering C-sections, sterile vaginal exam, fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, triage of obstetrical patients, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
  • Two professional references required from supervisors within the past 2 years, with at least one from the most recent employer
  • Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exceptions (booster not required)
  • International candidates must obtain SSN/SSC prior to submission

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for high-risk antepartum and laboring patients, including circulating and recovering C-sections
  • Any scrub color permitted
  • No block scheduling or special scheduling requests approved
  • RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days, and no RTO on weekends
  • No holiday RTO and no RTO the day before or after a holiday; calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
  • Returning clinicians with any prior break in contract must undergo full recredentialing and reattend orientation
  • Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate for those residing within 75 miles of the facility
  • Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
