Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
Details
- Respiratory Therapy department caring for neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
- Every other weekend required as scheduled
- Holiday coverage required as they fall
- Floating required within specialty and to all care areas to support RRT care
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- CRT or RRT license required if applicable
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Strong pediatric and adult experience required
- Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with airway management including intubation, extubation, and suctioning
- Experience administering nebulized and inhaled medications
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as CPAP, oscillating ventilators, and high-risk delivery assistance
- Experience caring for patients with ARDS, ECMO, cystic fibrosis, RSV, and other complex respiratory conditions
- Skilled in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care across the lifespan including neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations
- Perform pulmonary function testing and diagnostic procedures such as spirometry and shunt studies
- Support high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric intubations as needed
- Manage airway and pulmonary hygiene including chest physiotherapy and tracheostomy care
- First-time travelers accepted if candidate has strong pediatric/adult experience
- New graduates will not be considered
- Returning staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 12 months
- Returning travelers must have been away from the system for at least 6 months
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified
