Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department caring for neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required as scheduled
• Holiday coverage required as they fall
• Floating required within specialty and to all care areas to support RRT care
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• CRT or RRT license required if applicable
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Strong pediatric and adult experience required
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with airway management including intubation, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience administering nebulized and inhaled medications
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as CPAP, oscillating ventilators, and high-risk delivery assistance
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, ECMO, cystic fibrosis, RSV, and other complex respiratory conditions
• Skilled in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across the lifespan including neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations
• Perform pulmonary function testing and diagnostic procedures such as spirometry and shunt studies
• Support high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric intubations as needed
• Manage airway and pulmonary hygiene including chest physiotherapy and tracheostomy care
• First-time travelers accepted if candidate has strong pediatric/adult experience
• New graduates will not be considered
• Returning staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 12 months
• Returning travelers must have been away from the system for at least 6 months
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified
