Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring telemetry experience and cardiac monitoring skills.

Details

• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown unit setting
• 36 hours per week on night shift (3x12, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required (Friday & Saturday nights)
• Float required within the OSU system
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous telemetry experience required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in peripheral line care, IV starting and maintenance, and oxygen administration
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response as part of unit care
• Manage IV therapy and peripheral line care/management, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Administer oxygen therapy including nasal cannula
• Practice isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract due to state requirements
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees ineligible to be hired as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
