Description
American Traveler is hiring a multi-modality Radiology Technologist skilled in MRI, CT, and X-ray with 2+ years of experience for a hospital-based Medical Imaging department.
Details
- Multi-modality role covering MRI, CT, and general radiology/fluoroscopy
- Department has 1 CT scanner, 1 MRI scanner, and 4 X-ray rooms
- Modality coverage rotates daily based on schedule
- MRI outpatient schedule typically includes 10-12 patients with room to add ER/UC or inpatient cases
- Uses Siemens 64-slice Perspective CT scanner with Bracco power injector and CT fluoro
- Uses 1.5T Siemens Altea MRI with Bracco power injector; scope includes general abdomen, neuro, and MSK (no breast or cardiac MRI)
- X-ray/fluoroscopy equipment includes Carestream portable X-ray, GE/OEC C-arms, GE XR646 X-ray room, and GE Discovery RF180 fluoroscopy/X-ray system
- EPIC EMR and Sectra PACS system used for charting and imaging
- 8-hour variable shifts, 40 hours per week
- Standard shift 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with 30-minute lunch; weekend shifts are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM
- Weekend rotation every 4th or 5th weekend
- On-call requirement of one night every 7 days or as scheduled for weekend coverage
- Floating may be required to nearby clinics including Ortho Clinic, Family Practice/Urgent Care, or a low-volume Family Practice Clinic
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- BLS and ARRT-MRI certification required for MRI role
- BLS and ARRT-R certification required for Rad Tech/CT Tech role
- Must have both Radiology and CT competencies on file for this dual-modality role
- Must be a graduate of a Radiology Program eligible to sit for ARRT (R)(CT) certification
- License required if applicable
- Independent working skills required across all modalities, including patient screening, IV starts, and contrast dosing based on patient body weight
- MRI-specific skills include proper coil selection/application and scan field alignment for anatomy and protocols
- CT-specific skills include protocol and scan field selection, along with image reconstruction and reformatting
- X-ray-specific skills include positioning for general procedures, fluoroscopy, C-arm operation, and use of shielding
- EPIC and Sectra PACS system experience preferred
Additional Information
- Facility is known to be very traveler-friendly and frequently renews travelers
- One week of orientation provided for facility and unit
- Holiday coverage is modality dependent; up to one holiday possible but not likely
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Black scrubs required
- Free parking available in designated areas
- Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on modality and area of experience focus
