Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room professional with a minimum of 5 years of OR circulating experience and an active NC or compact RN license for a 12-hour day shift contract.
Details
- Level 3 Trauma facility with 457 licensed beds, recognized as a Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center
- Operating Room unit with 19 total OR suites, 17 currently blocked, averaging 50 cases per day
- Unit holds Bariatric Center of Excellence and Advanced Spine Surgery Certification designations
- Surgery specialties include trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics (3 robots), general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, and plastics
- 12-hour day shift schedule, 7a-7p, 36 hours per week
- No floating required
- Weekend rotation every 4th weekend, which may be a scheduled shift or call coverage
- On-call requirement averages 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule with a 45-minute response time, covering 11p-7a or 7a-7p/7p-7a on weekends
- Shift times may vary and include 7a-7p, 9a-9p, or 11a-11p depending on need
- Schedule operates on a 6-week cycle
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- CNOR certification preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of OR RN experience required
- Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience circulating in trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, and plastics cases
- Level 3 Trauma facility experience
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Circulate a wide variety of surgical cases across multiple specialties in a high-volume OR
- Supported by Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, ORAs, Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers
- Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- RTO requests require manager approval
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
- Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
