Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment requiring 2+ years of cath lab/EP experience and SC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in the Cath Lab/EP department
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, though hours may extend until procedures are complete
- Weekend and on-call requirements: one weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) per month plus one weekday call shift per week, subject to change based on staffing needs
- No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
- Epic EMR used
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab/EP experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization
- Skilled in circulating procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and monitoring procedural sedation
- Must provide own radiation badge, as the facility does not supply one to travelers
- SSN and driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Works in diagnostic cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology (EP) lab settings
- Administers and monitors procedural sedation medications
- Hospital-issued scrubs provided for the Cath Lab
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be considered at the standard rate; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- During hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Free parking available in downtown lots and garages with a distributed parking pass; garage clearance accommodates average SUV/truck height
