Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment requiring 2+ years of cath lab/EP experience and SC or compact RN licensure.

Details

Acute care hospital setting in the Cath Lab/EP department
1:1 patient ratio
Day shift, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, though hours may extend until procedures are complete
Weekend and on-call requirements: one weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) per month plus one weekday call shift per week, subject to change based on staffing needs
No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
Epic EMR used

Requirements

Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
Minimum 2 years of cath lab/EP experience required
Community hospital experience required
Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization
Skilled in circulating procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and monitoring procedural sedation
Must provide own radiation badge, as the facility does not supply one to travelers
SSN and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

Works in diagnostic cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology (EP) lab settings
Administers and monitors procedural sedation medications
Hospital-issued scrubs provided for the Cath Lab
Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs
Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be considered at the standard rate; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
During hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
Free parking available in downtown lots and garages with a distributed parking pass; garage clearance accommodates average SUV/truck height
