Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Critical Care ICU RN for a Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience, ventilator management skills, and teaching hospital experience.
Details
- Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, weekend nights (Friday/Saturday) plus one additional night shift weekly
- Floats to a variety of ICUs based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
- Floating is limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with Epic required
- Required skills: IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)
Additional Information
- Care for critically ill patients across multiple ICU specialties including cardiovascular, neurological, surgical, and medical intensive care
- Responsibilities may include arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- May involve care of patients with EVDs, ICP monitoring, CVA/stroke management, and post-cardiac surgery recovery
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
