Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and spine patients
• Serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients
• Receives patients transferred from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices
• 1st shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7a-7p
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
• BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience preferred
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• NIHSS certification required within 3 months of start
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of start

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination for medical surgical and telemetry patients
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Delegates and oversees patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Provides patient and family-centered education
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Collaborates closely with interdisciplinary care team members
