Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Medical ICU setting with 30 beds in a Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, alcohol and substance use/abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy
• Uses ventilators and manages critical drips
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Fast-paced, high-acuity unit
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior experience in high-volume, high-acuity trauma hospitals required
• Experience managing critical, fast-paced situations required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Additional Information

• Deliver high-acuity critical care in a Level 1 trauma center handling complex and severe cases
• Block scheduling is generally not approved for this unit
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travel candidates
