Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate certification for a day shift assignment.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, various days of the week
• Every other weekend required, subject to change per unit needs
• On-call requirement of 1 shift every 6 weeks
• Patient ratios of 1:4 general, 1:1-2 for laboring patients, and 3-4 for postpartum
• Uses Epic charting system
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including possible floating to sister facilities within the North region
• Community-level facility with 100-200 births per month
• Care for antepartum, LDRP, low risk, and mother/baby patient populations

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• ACLS certification required
• STABLE certification preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, vaginal and C-section delivery assistance, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring
• Experience caring for high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and VBAC management
• Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessment

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
• Support high-risk deliveries and manage complications such as hemorrhage, shock, and preterm labor
• Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Provide newborn care including cord care, car seat education, and discharge teaching to parents
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers will be considered if experience requirements are met and the fit is right
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose name used during employment for eligibility review
• Candidates on UCHealth's internal DNU list will not be considered
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods restricting RTO during select weeks
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
