Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Surgical Unit night shift position requiring a WI or compact RN license and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Adult Surgical Unit with a few pediatric patient beds
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (6:30P-7A)
• 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours
• Requires working every other weekend and holidays
• Floating to other units may be required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Prior Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Education verification required

Additional Information

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care
• Document patient care according to established standards
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family education
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patients' longitudinal plans of care
• Use critical thinking to ensure patient safety and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command
