Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a float pool position requiring NC or compact RN license and ACLS/NIHSS certification.

Details

• Inpatient Float Pool position covering multiple ICU units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
• May also float to stepdown units as needed
• Patient ratios are generally 1:1 to 1:3 in ICU, and 1:3 in stepdown units
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Block weekend scheduling available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (single-state or compact)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide clinical nursing care as part of a float team supporting multiple ICU and stepdown units
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on patient care planning and evaluation
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide relevant education
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and goal setting
• Every other holiday coverage required
• First-time travelers may be considered
