Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/PCU RN for a night shift assignment in a Cardiovascular Thoracic Progressive Care Unit, requiring 2 years of relevant experience and a Colorado or compact RN license.
Details
- Cardiovascular Thoracic Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting
- Provides inpatient management of patients before and after cardiac catheterization, vascular interventions, open-heart surgery, and thoracic surgery
- Common patient populations include chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular and thoracic conditions
- Progressive care ratios of 1:3, with more acute patients at 1:4 and a max of 5
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, various days of the week
- Weekend requirement of a minimum of 5 shifts per 6-week schedule
- On-call requirement of 1 day every 6 weeks
- EPIC charting system used
- Travelers are first to float and may float to sister facilities within the South Region as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (Colorado or Compact) required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration of vasoactive drips not required)
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team protocols
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- Computerized documentation skills required
Additional Information
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks
- Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
- Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates must disclose prior employment details
- Return travelers who completed a full year on assignment may not be rebooked for at least one year
- Completion of all facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
