Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Women's Care department
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00, various shifts of the week
• Patient ratios of 1:4, with 1:1-2 during labor and 1:3-4 for postpartum
• Every other weekend required, subject to change per unit needs
• On-call requirement of 1 shift every 6 weeks
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within the North region as requested
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrubs provided by facility

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• ACLS preferred
• STABLE certification preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including adult and neonatal arrest
• Experience with labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and high-risk delivery assistance
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Experience with fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care areas
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and neonatal resuscitation
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching to parents
• Manage patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, and preterm labor
• Community-level facility with 100-200 births per month
• First-time travelers considered if experience requirements are met and it's the right fit
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose name used during employment
• Candidates on UC Health's DNU list (applied to internal travel or perm positions within last two years) will not be considered
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Maximum 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods where RTO is restricted
• No blocked scheduling requests allowed
• Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• Local rate available for candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility
