Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a high-volume Level II Trauma Center requiring at least 2.5 years of large-volume ER experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• High patient volume exceeding 90,000 annual visits
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 1900-0730
• Weekend shifts required per department needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within the hospital based on census
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (CPI and TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2.5 years of experience in a large Level II trauma center required
• Large volume ER experience with high patient turnover required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, and ABG interpretation required
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring required
• Experience with CVA and neuro-trauma care required
• Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE required
• Ortho trauma experience required
• 1 professional reference required within the past 2 years
• Current Nursys license verification required within 2 weeks of consideration

Additional Information

• Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified Level II Trauma Center treating shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and pediatric emergencies including head injury and near drowning
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet the 2.5 years large Level II trauma center experience requirement
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible for consideration
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Time off requests must be pre-approved by the manager and submitted at time of consideration; no additions after submission
• Holiday RTO is not guaranteed and will be reviewed closer to the holiday based on availability
