Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Flex Pool night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active HI RN license.
Details
- Flex RN role floating between various medical and surgical units
- Primary units include Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular
- Floats occasionally to Cardiovascular Unit
- Medical unit has 77 beds, Laulima has 18 beds, and Cardiovascular Unit has 15 beds
- Nurse to patient ratios are 1:6 (days/eves) and 1:8 (nights) on Medical, 1:6 on Laulima, and 1:4 on Cardiovascular
- Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves
- Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
- 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
- Scheduled 36 hours per week following first week of orientation
- No guarantee of hours
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required by start of assignment
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred
- 2-10 years of nursing experience required
- Med/Surg and Step Down experience required
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care while floating across multiple medical and surgical units
- Unit-specific orientation and training provided
- Professional nursing attire with clean scrubs required
- Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to start of assignment for a scheduled appointment
- Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
- Medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted in lieu of documented proof of immunity
