Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a clinic-based position requiring a TN or compact license and chemotherapy administration skills.

Details

• Clinic-based oncology unit setting
• Monday through Friday schedule, day shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
• 13-week contract length
• No weekend scheduling required

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant oncology nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• ONS certification required, OCN highly preferred
• ACLS, APHON, CPHON, CPON, NIHSS, and PALS certifications preferred
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, including IV push and continuous infusion methods
• Skilled in accessing and managing central lines, PICC lines, and ports
• Experience administering blood products, coagulation factors, and biotherapy agents preferred
• Knowledge of cytotoxic spill management and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy preferred
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration and symptom management
• Support patients undergoing treatment for a range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood cancers
• Collaborate with care teams on psychosocial support, advanced directives, and hospice care as needed
• Monitor for and manage treatment side effects and abnormal lab values
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment process
