Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care RN for a 13-week assignment in Hawaii, requiring HI licensure and at least one year of recent acute care hospital experience.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit with 15 beds: 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU
  • Uses Meditech for charting and Pyxis for medication administration
  • Continuous cardiac monitoring and BIPAP equipment used on the unit
  • Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
  • No on-call requirements
  • May float to other acute units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER

Requirements

  • Active HI RN license required by start of assignment; may apply upon acceptance of offer if not already licensed
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year required
  • Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
  • Skilled in primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing

Additional Information

  • Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start for an in-person appointment in Hilo
  • Recommended to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
  • Scrubs required as part of dress code
  • COVID-19 vaccination required for eligibility
