Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of OR experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Experience with general OR, ambulatory OR, and pediatric general OR settings
• Experience with general surgery procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repair
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency management, code response, and fire safety
• Experience with endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and EGD preferred
• Experience with electrosurgical units
• Experience with ENT procedures such as tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy and myringotomy with tubes
• Experience with orthopedic total joint replacement and VATS thoracic procedures preferred
• PACU/Recovery skills preferred
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from a comparable specialty/setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across general, pediatric, ENT, orthopedic, and thoracic surgical procedures
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible for local candidate consideration at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles, along with location and dates
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
