Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Operating Room with at least 1 year of OR experience and a CA RN license to join a surgical team on day shift.
Details
- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- 26-week assignment length
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Cases include general surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair), pediatric general surgery, ENT (tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, myringotomy with tubes), orthopedic total joint replacement, and thoracic VATS procedures
- Endoscopic procedures performed include colonoscopy and EGD
- Utilizes electrosurgical units
- PACU/Recovery skills applicable
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, may include Charge RNs/Leads
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Candidates residing within 50 miles are accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including as permanent staff, travel contractor, or registry/per-diem, with location and dates if applicable
- First-time travel experience is not required for this position
