Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with a VA or compact license and 2+ years of cardiac telemetry experience for a night shift assignment.

Details

• 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry unit split into three 18-bed wings, with additional care provided in an Overflow unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating may be requested based on facility needs
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active VA RN license in hand or proof of compact license at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), all AHA-issued
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Specialty experience within the last year required
• Epic charting experience required
• NIH and stroke education required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring required
• Experience managing cardiac drips required; drip titration preferred
• Experience with sheath removal and pre/post cardiac cath, angiogram, and surgery care preferred
• Experience with central line and PICC line management preferred
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to cardiovascular telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Candidates cannot work Riverside travel assignments and per diem contracts simultaneously
• Prior permanent employees must have separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to travel
• Requested time off should be minimal, ideally no full calendar weeks off and no more than 7 days total during the assignment
• All time off requests must be submitted with the initial application, and no additional requests will be approved after an offer is made
• If a holiday falls during the assignment period, coverage may be required
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
