Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital requiring 4+ years of experience.
Details
- Respiratory Care unit at a teaching hospital with Level I and Level II trauma experience
- Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
- Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule, 19:00-7:00
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays with no RTO approved around Christmas
- Epic EMR experience required
- Performs ventilator management, airway management, ABG interpretation, and chest physiotherapy
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience required; candidates with 2+ years may be considered
- RRT certification required
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- ACCS preferred
- VA state license required if applicable; pending license accepted if candidate holds another state license to obtain temporary license before start
- BSN preferred
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two professional references required
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care including ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene for critically ill adult patients
- Perform medication delivery via nebulizer, MDI, and aerosol setups
- Assist with intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Completes specialty-specific orientation modules during onboarding
- Previous UVA Health staff or travelers must have 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching this limit
- Maximum 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- No radius rule for this position
