Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least one year of experience.

Details

• Acute Care Med/Surg unit with 44 beds and 40 staffed
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
• Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for both days and nights
• CNA support available at approximately 1:8-1:10, also used as sitters
• Uses MEDITECH EMR, experience preferred but not required
• Telemetry patients present but monitored on a different unit
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required to all acute care and cardiology units, or to the ER for acute care patient holds

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required (both must be AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg acute care unit
• General orientation is 1 week, including EMR training, plus 2 days of floor-specific orientation
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
• Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
