Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with trauma and neuro experience for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level 2 trauma center.

Details

  • Level 2 trauma center OR with 16 suites averaging 30 cases per day
  • Common cases include General, ENT, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, and Robotics
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • 12-hour day shifts, varied 0630-1900 schedule
  • Weekends and holidays required as needed, including 4th of July preference
  • Call requirement of approximately 120 hours over the 13-week contract, in rotation with staff, with a 30-minute response time
  • Floating within Zone 1 (PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STM) may be required only in cases of extreme need
  • 2 OR techs on shift with charge nurse and house supervisor support
  • Scrubs provided by facility

Requirements

  • Active CO or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
  • Trauma and Neuro surgical experience required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Driver's license copy required for consideration
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

  • Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties including General, ENT, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, and Robotics
  • No scrubbing in required for RNs on this unit
  • Unit-specific orientation provided, with 12 orientation hours required
  • Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week even if initial modules are completed remotely
  • Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to meet radius requirements
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
