Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in a high-volume Level 1 trauma facility, requiring circulating experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the OR Float Pool of a 1000+ bed Level 1 trauma hospital
• 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) plus 5 procedural rooms
• Handles all case types including neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary cases
• Patient population excludes cardiac, transplant, and trauma/neuro service lines
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases (separate Children's Hospital OR)
• May float between OR units but not between locations
• 12-hour day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with variable weekday scheduling and no block schedule available
• Late stay required, with up to four late stays expected within a 13-week period
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required, on file at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years OR experience required
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience not required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide circulating nursing care across a wide range of surgical case types in a Level 1 trauma OR setting
• Late stay coverage may be needed until night shift teams can take over, occasionally extending up to an hour beyond scheduled shift end, with increased frequency in summer and December
• Expected to work 2 of 3 holidays with limited time off approvals
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate under the 75-mile radius rule
• First-time travelers not considered for this position due to prior travel experience requirement
