Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and independent scrub/circulate skills.
Details
- 8-week assignment in the Operating Room at a short-term acute care, Level I trauma teaching hospital
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift 8-hour shifts (7:00-15:30, 8:00-16:30, or 9:00-17:30)
- No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
- No floating required outside scope
- Cases include Eyes, Ortho, GYN, General, Colorectal, Plastics, ENT, Cardiac, and GI lab procedures
- Circulate and scrub responsibilities across multiple surgical specialties
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (no issuance if tied to another compact state)
- 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Must be independent in the OR with scrubbing and circulating duties
- Travel nursing experience required
- ACLS certification required by compliance deadline
Additional Information
- Provide circulating and scrubbing support across a wide range of surgical specialties including Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, GYN, General Surgery, Colorectal, Plastics, ENT, Cardiac, and GI lab procedures
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Fit testing required; facial hair must allow for proper testing or must be shaved
- Facility is a short-term acute care, teaching, Level I trauma hospital
- No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
- RTO limited to 1 request per contract, max 7 days, none allowed during the first week of assignment
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
