Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 1 year of experience and required Epic charting skills for a night shift assignment on a mixed acuity unit.

Details

• Mixed acuity Med/Surg/Tele unit with MS, MS/Tele, and Tele patients
• Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, sepsis, cellulitis, pneumonia, SBO, afib, NSTEMI, CVA/TIA, total joint replacement, AMS, and AKI
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience managing dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response situations
• Skilled in wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with orthopedic, cardiovascular, renal, and GI patient care as applicable

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of med/surg and telemetry diagnoses
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted
• Clinicians cannot work more than 1 year as a traveler without taking a 6-month break before returning
