Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg/Telemetry LTAC unit position on night shift requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital setting with 66 staffed beds
- Med/Surg/Telemetry patient population with 1:5 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the hospital or affiliated campuses based on staffing needs
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Active RN license (State or Compact) required, pending license not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred (3 years)
- Prior travel experience required
- No background or license actions within the past 12 months
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, peripheral line management, chest tube care, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Additional preferred skills include arterial line management, PICC line management, ventilated patient care, high flow nasal cannula, cardiac drip titration, and continuous bladder irrigation
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within an LTAC unit including cardiac monitoring, respiratory care, and wound management
- Royal blue and white scrubs required
- Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted; may request one major holiday off
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- System has a 2-contract limit for day shift (one extension) and a 3-contract limit for night shift (two extensions); must wait 6 months before reapplying after reaching the maximum
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the main campus are not eligible for this position
- Completion of required modules (approximately 4-10 hours) required prior to start
