Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU and Adult Critical Care position requiring 2 years of experience and both NICU and adult respiratory care expertise.
Details
- Level II 8-bed NICU and 18-bed ICU covering both NICU and adult units
- Level II Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical Department also part of facility
- Night shift 12-hour shifts from 6:30pm to 7:00am
- Every other weekend required (Friday+Saturday or Saturday+Sunday)
- Floating may be required to other Swedish facilities within the state
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- NICU and Adult experience required to cover both units
- At least 1 year of NICU experience with formal NICU training required for NICU coverage
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, CRT
- RRT certification preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Compact state license must be in hand at time of submission
- License required if applicable
- Skilled in ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, oscillating and high frequency ventilators
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and apnea monitors
- Experience with airway management including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for submission
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across NICU, adult critical care, and emergency department settings
- Perform ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway management procedures
- Administer respiratory medications including bronchodilators, steroids, and Nitric Oxide therapy
- Care for infants and children with respiratory distress syndrome and RSV
- Assist in high-risk deliveries as needed
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Former permanent staff may return after 3 months if outside 50-mile radius of facility
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Small department requires flexibility with availability
