Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN with circulating competency and Trauma Level II experience for a 13-week assignment requiring an active MI RN license.

Details

• Operating Room setting including Ambulatory OR, General OR, and Trauma OR
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, working either 7:00-19:30 or 9:00-21:30
• Some shifts may extend slightly (7a-7:30p or 9a-9:30p)
• Weekend requirement of 3 weekends per 6 weeks
• Holiday coverage based on unit rotation
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Cerner experience preferred
• 1:1 patient ratio experience required
• Travelers must be willing to float based on facility census and staffing needs

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required (may be pending at submission but must be active by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• Previous Charge Nurse experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• Competency in circulating role required
• Experience in specialties such as vascular, gynecology, neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, ENT, oral, endoscopic, bariatric, and podiatric procedures
• Familiarity with equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana table
• Experience with robotics systems such as Da Vinci Xi and Mako preferred
• Knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia protocols

Additional Information

• Provide circulating RN support across a wide range of surgical specialties and procedures
• Perform professional duties including blood product administration, infection control, specimen handling, IV starts, and wound management
• Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures for patient safety
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted per assignment
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least three years before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates are not accepted; travelers must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Required to complete facility training modules within the first week of the assignment
• Facility maintains strict professional conduct standards, and unprofessional behavior or attendance issues may result in contract termination
