Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN with CT/compact licensure, Epic experience, and prior charge and Trauma Level I experience for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Inpatient Oncology unit at a 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (0700-1930)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active or in-process CT RN license (Standard or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Chemo (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certifications preferred
• Minimum 3 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II, teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, port access/management, central line care, and chemotherapy administration
• Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies such as ATLS, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
• Skilled in psychosocial care including hospice, advanced directives, and patient/family education
• Experience managing symptoms such as nausea, neuropathy, and altered mental status
• Knowledge of care for various cancer types including breast, lung, colorectal, and leukemia/blood dyscrasias

Additional Information

• Provide direct inpatient care to oncology patients, including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration
• Collaborate with care teams on pain management, wound care, and post-surgical care
• Participate in care coordination and psychosocial support for patients and families
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required unless religious or medical exemption applies
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• First-time travelers are not considered due to travel experience requirement
