Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, requiring an active NY RN license and 2+ years of ED experience.

Details

• Combined Adult/Pediatric, Non-Trauma Emergency Department setting within a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
• Night shift schedule from 1845-0715, with 36 or 48 hour weeks
• Requires working every other weekend (2 weekends per 4-week posted schedule)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses EPIC for charting, Pyxis for medication management, and SBAR for communication
• Floating required
• 24-hour unit orientation provided

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• CPI and TCAR certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center required
• Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Required experience with 1:5 patient ratios
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficient in blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
• Experience treating CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience treating ortho-trauma, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputations
• Experience treating abdominal pain, asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injury, hyperglycemia, and seizures
• Experience identifying and reporting abuse or neglect
• Experience treating respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and mental/behavioral health conditions
• Experience caring for ventilated patients

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high-acuity trauma and stroke center setting
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Candidates cannot have more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO)
• Previous employees may be considered if it has been at least 6 months since their last assignment system-wide
