Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a CA license and at least 2 years of circulating experience in a community hospital or Trauma Level II setting.

Details

• Community hospital Operating Room department
• 5x8 day shift schedule with start times between 6:45 AM and 8:30 AM
• Call requirements include overnight coverage on weekdays, 24-hour weekend coverage, and 24-hour holiday coverage
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Circulating role covering General Surgery, Orthopedics, Spine, Urology, Robotics, OB/GYN (C-sections), and Plastic Surgery

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR circulating experience in a community hospital or Trauma Level II facility required
• Conscious sedation monitoring experience required
• Experience with procedures such as hysterectomy, C-sections, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, laminectomy/discectomy, total joint replacement, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred
• Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana Table preferred
• Laser safety experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provides individualized nursing care to geriatric, adult, and adolescent surgical patients from admission through discharge
• Requires knowledge of infection control, universal protocol (time out) procedures, specimen handling, and emergency management including fire safety and malignant hyperthermia response
• Local candidates accepted at a local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least one year to reapply as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
